If you have ever been in court as an observer, you can probably attest that lawyers speak when making a point to a judge (versus yelling and shouting). There are no politics in a courtroom – a judge does not ask your party affiliation, nor would judge appreciate any discussion other than the matter at hand. Each side takes their turn, in order, and no one should interrupt the other. There are consequences for breaking the rules (and lawyers respect the Rule of Law).
In the context of today’s political climate, filled with vitriol and anger, the courtroom is the last vestige of civility. The real reason that 95% of all matters do not go to trial is because attorneys, along with the assistance of the Court, LISTEN to each other. Ans the 5% that cannot be resolved are decided in a peaceful and respectable manner.
I pride myself as being a good listener so I can assess my adversary’s position. I can strategize and make decisions based on what the other side is saying in Court. For 36 years I have researched, prepared, and presented my client’s position in courtrooms throughout the state of New York (and New Jersey and other states in the US).
My firm will listen to YOU! We are at YOUR service! and kudos to all lawyers who respect their role in solving people’s problems!
