The Staten Island Trial Lawyers Association was represented by President Charles DeStefano on March at “Community Day” hosted by Iman Tahir Kukaj (left in photo) at the Albanian Cultural Center. The event included leaders in the community, including Borough Commander Chief Edward Delatorre (Right in photo). Other guests included leaders representing the borough’s Jewish, Hindu, Catholic, and Protestant religions, as well as the medical and professional community.
The purpose of the event is to make other parts of the community aware of how we all contribute to the lives of Staten Islanders.
On behalf of SITLA, I reported that we are availing our skills and experience to the injured, the aggrieved, and the marginalized citizens of this Island. We take pride in providing competent legal services and encourage people to have unfettered access to the courts.
I also discussed how SITLA has a pilot internship program for students who are interested in becoming lawyers or court employees.
